The only crackling I’ve noticed is when Windows first starts up. Yes, my password is: I run everything stock and everything runs smooth and looks fantastic. I would consider getting a soundcard if you are serious about gaming little cpu usageand the pops and crackles get to you. The service and support has always treated me great.
Someone mentioned treble control? Seems the crackling is part of the Soundmax experience then. It’s very muffled and distorted.
The only “pop” I ever hear is when I first power on the platform. Also there good for OCing? If the Asus P4P Deluxe is as good for general gaming as the other two more expensive boards then i’m not gonna go spend that extra cash on either of them Looks like I’ll be looking for a Realtek sound based board. Actually, “stonker” means the complete opposite to “stinker”.
These boards are very similar.
You won’t have any regrets if you go with this combo. Ars Scholae Palatinae et Subscriptor. It’s not great, but it works.

Best mobo for gaming: My current plan is to upgrade to an Audigy 2 ZS in a month or so. I even use the front panel audio connector for my headphones. Those are my major gripes about the sound, as it sounds alright during playback of cd’s and games that I have played thus far.

I can say that I am very happy with the on board sound on this board, and consider it heads and tails better then the three or four other onboard sound solutions I have been exposed to.
Thu Jan 15, I’m not sure if it’s the same sound processsor though.
